A psychosocial evaluation for your own immigration case Also called a mental health evaluation for immigration.
If you are going through an asylum, VAWA, T visa, U visa, or hardship waiver case, you can contact me directly about an evaluation for yourself. A psychosocial evaluation documents how trauma, abuse, or hardship has affected you, in a form the immigration court or USCIS can use. You do not have to tell your story perfectly, or all at once.
Evaluations are conducted remotely and are used in U.S. immigration courts and USCIS adjudications. Please share the venue so I can flag any jurisdiction-specific considerations.
What happens next
You send a short inquiry or book a fit call
Use the inquiry form and choose "I am seeking an evaluation for myself," or book a free 15-minute fit call. Share your case type, any deadline or hearing date, and the venue. Please do not send declarations, medical records, or other confidential details at this stage.
The fit check
The fit check confirms your case type, timeline, and jurisdiction, whether you have an immigration attorney, and whether an evaluation is appropriate for your case. If it is not the right fit, I will say so.
If you have an attorney
With your permission, I coordinate with your attorney. Documents are exchanged only after a secure intake channel is in place, and your attorney reviews a draft of the report for factual, jurisdictional, and privilege-related corrections. Clinical opinions are not altered on request. When an attorney retains me, reports are released to retaining counsel only.
If you do not have an attorney yet
An attorney can tell you whether an evaluation will help your case and how it fits the legal record. Here is where to look for one. People filing a VAWA self-petition can work with me directly. If you are filing without an attorney, how the report is delivered to you is confirmed at the fit check.
The evaluation
The interviews are trauma-informed, take place over more than one session, and are conducted remotely, with interpreter planning where needed. You can take breaks, and you do not have to have every date or detail ready.
The report
Standard turnaround is 2–3 weeks from completed intake and document receipt. Rush turnaround is available at +$300–$500, depending on deadline and availability.
